Words have always been Solange’s passion, now so more than ever.
Solange achieved a successful writing career while doing “last minute trials,” mostly in Southern California. Dubbed “the Case Saver,” Solange handled intense legal motions that either made or broke a case, especially in the areas of business, labor, and employment law. In 2014, she received the State Bar of California’s Solo and Small Firm’s Section’s highest award, the Myer J. Sankary Attorney of the Year Award. It is given to only one attorney each year in California. She was also inducted in Western State College of Law’s Hall of Fame.
When Solange was just thirty-seven years old, her first husband, John, died due to gross medical negligence at a leading Southern California hospital, UCLA Medical Center. This life-altering experience helped shape her into the person she is today. She began writing creatively to deal with the stress of his hospitalization and his untimely death.
Solange’s first psychological thriller, The Burning Man, featuring FBI forensic pathologist Dr. Catherine “Cat” Powers was published in 2015 to critical acclaim. Her second novel in the series, Firestorm, was released to critical acclaim, on May 15, 2018. Dying Declaration is the third novel in the Dr. Catherine “Cat” Powers series, which also received rave reviews from the industry and readers alike. Bomb Blast is the fourth novel in the Dr. Catherine “Cat” Powers series. Solange is currently penning additional Dr. Catherine “Cat” Powers adventures. There will be at least two additional novels in the series.
A fan of things that go bump in the night, Solange has also completed a Southern Gothic horror novel called Fiona’s Box, about a cursed silver box, which will be released shortly.
Solange lives in Southern Florida and works in civil litigation. She enjoys traveling, writing, cooking, gardening, time with her family, as well as good food and conversation.
Solange is fortunate to have travelled the world, visiting Canada, Jamaica, Cayman, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize, Ireland, Scotland, Great Britain, France, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Tahiti, and the Hawaii Islands just to name a few. She believes that being engrossed in new and different cultures makes her a better writer.
She is thrilled to announce that her first novel, The Burning Man, has just been picked up for film adaptation. She will be working with a renowned screenwriter, who has advised her that The Burning Man is the best self-published novel he has ever read! A tremendous compliment coming from someone who has worked with A-listers in Hollywood, California for over 20 years.
On a personal level, Solange is very close to her immediate family. She still has a large extended family in Jamaica, as well as family in Canada, France, and the Bahamas, as well as family friends in Great Britain.
