Reviews
A fluid, snarky thriller of great momentum that drives the boundaries of noir almost to the edge of darkness.
Taking a page from Ritchie’s real life as a successful attorney, a resonating message in her books is that women are not just femme fatales or victims, but strong and capable people ho must find a way to balance all of the challenges of work and family.
Every. Sentence. Jars. The prose, staccato, precise, burns…Fast and brutal, Cat Powers cuts to the chase as she puts her life, and the life of her young son, on the table.
FBI forensic pathologist Catherine ‘Cat’ Powers faces her past horror, one she wished would vanish forever: the psychologically deranged serial killer known as the Burning Man, who displays his true-to-form diabolical soul. The suspense does not let up till the last page.
The Burning Man promises (and delivers) a strong female protagonist whose complex life and issue are far beyond the usual one-dimensional investigator persons seen in similar genre thrillers. It’s a powerful read for mystery and thriller fans who like their stories fast-paces, multi-faceted, and hot and spicy with emotional connections and psychological depth.
The Burning Man promises to have you on the edge of your seat from the first page.
I love this & I can’t wait for more.
I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon.
And letting everyone know about it.
So i gave it a 5 Stars.
Dr. Catherine “Cat” Powers is back in the hunt for a serial killer. Found myself flipping those pages anxious to find out what happened next. Cat knows how to tangle with a killer and find justice in the process.
I thoroughly enjoy Solange’s clever writing style. Firestorm, like her previous novel, Burning Man, is a non-stop action book.
Very descriptive, fast paced: you can’t put the book down. Her characters seem very real; you get caught up in the adventure.
I really enjoyed every minute of “The Burning Man.” I have and will continue to suggest it to others looking for a great mystery/thriller with characters you can understand (except for one). This fast-paced book never allowed my mind to wander – it reeled me in and kept me involved until I finished it. And what a finish! I can’t wait for your next book.
I just finished “The Burning Man.” Ms. Ritchie has mastered the fast-paced pump your heart thriller. She writes beautifully and kept me reading until the end. I usually only read at night, but this novel wouldn’t let me rest until I was through–only to be pleasantly surprised to know that there will be more. I am an avid reader. I love thrillers. I loved this novel. It is a good story, with strong characters, and, as I have stated, a very fast-moving chain of events, with a grand climax.
Couldn’t put it down, one of the fastest read I have had! Can’t wait till the next one!
Firestorm is most impressive. The characters were well thought out and the writing sharp and quick. Ritchie knows how to rock an autopsy scene!
This fast-paced thriller will get hold of you from the first page and never let go. Filled with details only Orange County locals would know, Firestorm realistically places the reader in the very heart of a firestorm.
Firestorm keeps the pace fast and compelling. Ritchie keeps the reader fully invested in each step of the protagonist’s struggle to stop the murderous rampage of a pair of sadistic and vengeful opponents.
A thrilling page-turner that I found hard to put down. The forensics and fire scenes were so realistic that I could almost feel the heat and the conflagration and smell the smoke and ash. Ritchie has a real winner with Firestorm.
In Firestorm, a serial arsonist creates an inferno of revenge fueled by hate aimed at Dr. Catherine Powers and her son, Joey. Firestorm is a gripping drama with characters you will pine to know more about long after you read the last chapter.
Firestorm is an intense battle between Cat Powers, a hard charging forensic pathologist/agent with the FBI and a psychopathic murder who would make Hannibal Lecter cringe. Both are brilliant and determined to win at any cost.
Solange Ritchie delivers another fiery thriller, Firestorm, with her compelling female heroine besting both an old and a new nemesis, each whose evil will make your skin burn, with a promise of more to come. The heat starts on page 1, and the inferno never lets up.
Firestorm explodes into action and suspense on the very first page, and the tension never lets up. This fast-paced thriller is filled with twists and turns that leave you breathless and rushing to find out what happens at the end of the book. And the ending leaves you wanting to read more of Ritchie’s books. Firestorm is definitely a must-read novel.
Firestorm is fast-paced and descriptive. Ritchie’s realistic description of forensics reads as very genuine, and it is clear it was thoroughly and methodically researched to get even the minute aspects accurate – from the serial killer psychology to a wide variety of crime scene techniques.
Criminal have met their match in the FBI’s Dr. Catherine Powers. Firestorm is filled with twists and turns. Solange gets into the heads of serial killers with such accuracy its truly chilling. A great read that will leave you wanting more.
